In November, the U.S. Embassy selected 16 women to be featured in an online campaign to raise awareness of gender based violence. On March 1, in celebration of Women’s History Month, the images of those 16 women were displayed at the Tbilisi History Museum Karvasla. At the opening reception, representatives from the U.S. Embassy had the honor of meeting many of the courageous women featured in the portraits. The 16 women included artists and writers, a police officer, a religious leader, and representatives from the Government of Georgia and civil society. Each woman uses her talents to protect the rights of women and girls in Georgia.
