The United States strongly supports clean energy as the path to Georgia’s energy independence and energy security. The 9.1. MW Akhalkalaki Hydropower Plant, built by Caucasus Clean Energy Holding and Landsvirkjun Power, is the biggest generation project commissioned in Georgia this year and represents a significant American investment in Georgia’s energy future. More than the power project, CCEH is also assisting the community with accompanying social projects like water irrigation and a sports hall in an economically underserved region. The combination of power generation and corporate social responsibility represents the best in U.S.-Georgian cooperation toward a secure, more prosperous future.
