Ambassador Kelly C. Degnan discussed the role of diplomats in responding to international crisis such as COVID-19 with new and current Georgian Diplomats at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Mikaladze Institute. Ambassador Degnan spoke about the new realities in diplomacy today and shared her reflections as a diplomat responding to international crises.
During her virtual engagement, Ambassador Degnan spoke about the U.S. State Department’s history and its efforts to provide routine and emergency services to American citizens abroad. She spoke at length about the United States’ assistance to Georgia and the long-standing partnership between the two countries.
Before taking questions from the audience, Ambassador encouraged the young diplomats to never stop learning and working for a better world.
