Ambassador Degnan visited the community center in Mukhaestate

For five years the U.S. Embassy’s INL office supported community policing programs in the Adjara region to bring municipal workers, teachers, parents, and police officers together to make their communities safer. In Mukhaestate, they identified the lack of a safe meeting space for students and community members and worked together to achieve this goal. This U.S. Government-funded project also facilitated conversations between student and police officers and teachers on different topics, including domestic violence, crimes against children, cybercrime, trafficking, and bullying. Ambassador Degnan visited the center in Mukhaestate and commended the staff and volunteers for their remarkable work for the safety and well-being of children.
Special thanks to PH International (Project Harmony) for administering this project!
