Question about the meeting

Ambassador Kelly Degnan: I had a great meeting with the minister today. We have such a rich array of collaboration with all the sectors in his ministry, such as math, education, science, culture, and sports. We discussed different ways we could expand on that cooperation. I think the new USAID education initiative, $7 million to complement what the Georgian government is doing to strengthen Georgia’s basic education, fits in very well with the MCC grants that were focused on refurbishing and building Georgian schools and infrastructure. So, it’s a very nice pattern of fortifying the education system here, getting vocational training out to more students, as well as at the very basic level, getting a curricula that is going to raise a generation of Georgians who are advanced in critical thinking, analytical thinking, and have a real curiosity about learning. Thank you.
