Ambassador Dunnigan Visits Kakheti Region
Ambassador Dunnigan joined President Salome Zourabichvili, European Ambassadors, and international representatives to celebrate the 4th anniversary of the opening of the Euro-Atlantic Center. She met Kvareli students and teachers, emphasizing the crucial role of organizations like this and the Kvareli American Shelf in Georgia’s journey toward EU candidate status.
Additionally, the Ambassador participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Nuts Processing enterprise in the village of Chumlaki, Kakheti. This joint effort by U.S. government agency USAID, the Government of Georgia’s Rural Development Agency, and Nuts Processing, has established a state-of-the-art factory capable of processing 600 tons of high-quality nuts per season. The United States’ investment in walnut processing facilities in Kakheti creates job opportunities and supports local farmers to spur economic growth in the region.
