Ambassador Dunnigan’s Comments at One Health Frontline FETP Graduation

The United States Center for Disease Control, the Global Fund, and Georgia’s National Center for Disease Control are committed to working together to respond, detect, and prevent global health challenges and pandemics. I’m here today to congratulate, congratulate the 18 Georgian students who are graduating from the Global Health FETP program. This is a very unique program, and Georgia is one of only six countries globally that was selected to pioneer this program, which brings together public health officials from the environment, agriculture, and public health sector, medical sector to try to work across sectors to prevent diseases.

I am so thrilled that these graduates will now go on to even more detailed training and to mentor their peers, and together they will work to continue to strengthen Georgia’s public health workforce. This is a tremendous collaboration between the United States and Georgia, and I’m very proud that we can be part of it. And so I want to say thank you to the Georgian government and to these graduates for the work you’re doing.
