Ambassador Dunnigan's remarks to internal press after a meeting with Prosecutor General Shotadze
I’ve just had a tremendous meeting with Prosecutor General Shotadze and his excellent team. The Prosecutor General’s office is doing really tremendous work here and has made important, I think, developments and improvements in issues like cybercrimes, protecting women and children. The United States is really happy that we’ve been able to support the prosecutor service in assistance with setting up the cybercrime unit – defending victims of crime, women and children in particular. We’ve done exchanges between members of this team and the United States where we’ve learned from each other. So, it’s not just one way – we’ve also learned from the talent here. The United States is going to continue to support the prosecutor service with exchanges, helping them fight crime, but also defend, develop human rights defenses here that help with the integration into the West. It was a really good visit.
