U.S. Ambassador Ian Kelly visited Rustavi Prison # 16 to attend the launch of a culinary arts program for the inmates.  Minister Kakhishvili and other representatives of Georgia’s correctional system introduced Ambassador Kelly to the reforms recently undertaken by the Ministry of Corrections and Probation with the support of the U.S. Embassy’s Office of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL).  INL provides financial and technical support to the Ministry’s efforts to expand inmate rehabilitation and vocational programs, including this culinary arts program which has been specially designed and tailored for low-risk prisoners.
