On May 14, Ambassador Degnan kicked off the first virtual Women in Science (WiSci) alumni reunion bringing together students from Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and the United States. The U.S. Embassy has proudly supported Georgian high school girls’ engagement in the international STEM summer camp for the past two years. The camps are put on worldwide by the UN Foundation’s Girl Up initiative in partnership with leading public and private partners. Three WiSci alum have gone on to represent Georgia as FLEX (Future Leaders Exchange Program) scholarship recipients.
Ambassador Degnan:
“I am really inspired by seeing all of you!”
“I hope you will always remember the excitement of discovery and creative work in the sciences. Keep that spark going in your future studies, careers, and your service to humanity,.:
“We need to build these strong networks that will open new doors and opportunities for us all.”
