Ambassador Norland Hosts Future Participants of National Model United Nations Conference (March 17)

On March 17, Ambassador Norland hosted over 20 students from universities in Tbilisi who are preparing to participate in the 2015 National Model United Nations Conference in New York City at the end of March. Ambassador Norland commended the students’ interest in international affairs and expressed hope that their upcoming experience would provide them with real life skills in diplomacy, negotiations, and international cooperation.  The students also learned about current U.S. priorities at the United Nations, including issues such as countering violent extremism and combating international terrorism, preventing and responding to infectious diseases, and developing shared values that promote universal rights for every human being.
