Ambassador Norland and US Law Enforcement Advisor Donate Money to Shelters for Victims of Domestic Violence (March 20)

On March 20, Ambassador Richard Norland and U.S. Law Enforcement Advisor Michael Turner donated $1,800 to the directors of the shelters for victims of domestic violence located in Tbilisi and Gori. The donated monies are the proceeds raised during a photography exhibit, called “Georgia Through The Eyes of American Diplomats,” which was held in December photo at the Tbilisi Museum of Modern Art. Photographs from the exhibit, which were taken by US Embassy personnel Larry Dumlao and Michael Turner, were sold at the exhibit’s conclusion in order to raise funds for the continued operations of the domestic violence shelters in Tbilisi and Gori. This was the second year in a row that the photography fund-raising event was held; in 2014 a similar event raised $1,200 for the same two shelters.
