American Entrepreneur Meagan Ward Promotes Female Empowerment and Economic Independence as Part of the U.S. Embassy’s 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence Campaign (November 14)

Tbilisi—Meagan Ward, a successful young entrepreneur and business owner from Detroit, Michigan, will visit Tbilisi and the surrounding area November 25-30, 2017.  As one of the featured speakers in the U.S. Embassy’s 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign, Meagan will bring a message of female empowerment and economic independence to Georgia.  Meagan founded the entrepreneurship organization The Powerful Woman, is the CEO of the branding agency Creatively Flawless, and also founded Detroit’s first female-only co-working space.

While in Georgia, Meagan will conduct business workshops with female entrepreneurs, as well as meet with victims of domestic violence and incarcerated women to help them find entrepreneurial solutions to generate income for their families.  The Embassy’s campaign—16 Days Against Gender Violence: the Future is Ours—will also feature NASA astronaut Heidi Piper in early December.  The Embassy will be promoting the hashtag #WomanInGeorgia (#ქალისაქართველოში) to highlight the ways women of all ages and backgrounds contribute to the culture and economy of the country.
