Chargé d’Affaires Elizabeth Rood joined the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), MCA-Georgia, Georgian government senior leadership, and members of the local authorities in a ceremony dedicated to the reopening of two schools in Kvemo Kartli, Georgia: Rustavi # 4 and Gardabani #4 Public Schools.  In her address to guests, Chargé d’Affaires Elizabeth Rood empathized that the U.S. government, through the Millennium Challenge Corporation, is rehabilitating the schools “to be warm in the winter, safe and accessible all year, and provide students and teachers with modern science laboratories and in turn a modern learning environment.”  In the long term, 37,000 Georgian schoolchildren whose schools are refurbished by MCC will benefit.
