CDA Elizabeth Rood participates in World Clean up Day (September 22)

Today, on September 22, Chargé d’Affaires Elizabeth Rood participated in World Clean Up Day 2019 Event, which took place at Krtsanisi Park, Tbilisi. Together with the volunteers, USAID representatives, staff members and officials of Wildlife Agency of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia and Tbilisi City Hall, Mrs. Rood has helped clean the territory of the Krtsanisi Park.

Since 2018, Waste Management Technologies Phase II Program has been implementing a nationwide campaign, “Keep Georgia Beautiful.”  The campaign, entailing close cooperation between the government, business sector, and the public, aims to combat littering and keep territories clean.  The campaign currently has 27 members, including financial institutions, international organizations, government agencies, and schools, who have adopted various territories across Georgia to maintain and keep clean.  The number of members is continuously increasing.
