CDA Elizabeth Rood’s Remarks to Media at Hybrid Warfare Symposium (June 12)
Q-n about the importance of today’s event
Elizabeth Rood: Hybrid threats are very real danger to Georgia, to NATO, to our allies and partners. Those who use hybrid threats seek to undermine unity among our neighbors and our partners and our alliances, and they seek to weaken confidence in our democratic institutions. But we will not allow those using hybrid threats against us to succeed. The United States is assisting Georgia, as well as our European partners and allies, in countering hybrid threats through centers of excellence for countering hybrid threats in Europe. Today, as you can see, we have a conference in which we will discuss with Georgia and with our partners from Romania, Ukraine, and Moldova, tools and methods for countering hybrid threats. This is very important and I would like to say my thanks to the Georgian Ministry of Defense and to the American Special Forces and our friends and partners who have come to this conference for making this important event possible.
