CDA Ross Wilson’s Remarks to the Media at Georgian Media Partnership Program (GMPP) Roundtable Meeting (April 3)

Q-n about the Georgian Media Partnership Program, its importance, and goals

CDA Ambassador Ross Wilson:  We are delighted to have this Georgia Media Partnership Program here today.  Free and independent media are essential to democracy in any country, and obviously, that includes Georgia. This project aims to strengthen the media and especially to strengthen the media in regions throughout and around the country.

Q: Do you think  this program will continue in the future, what are the plans for the future?

CDA Ambassador Ross Wilson:  I think we certainly hope that this program will continue in the future.  Again, free media is important  here, developing media skills and contacts is important for journalists throughout the country, and so this is an important activity I hope we can continue.
