Chargé d’Affaires Elizabeth Rood’s Statement to Media at MCC-Funded School Rehabilitation in Vani (May 31)

I am very happy to be here in Vani today to announce the beginning of the Millennium Challenge Corporation’s final phase of school renovations.  The renovation of the Vani school is part of $140 million investment that the Millennium  Challenge Corporation is making in Georgia’s educational system, through this 37,000 school children in more than 90 schools around Georgia are going to enjoy modern laboratories, classrooms that are warm in the winter and cool in the summer, modern equipment and a much better learning environment.  The Millennium Challenge Corporation we have in Georgia is another example of how the United States is making every effort to help the Georgian people and to provide Georgian students and the school children with a world class education, which will be a big investment in Georgia’s economic growth and future prosperity.
