DCM Elisabeth Rood’s Remarks to Media at NDC Training Graduation (November 7)
Q-n about the event
DCM Elizabeth Rood: In the United States we have a saying ‘Dog is man’s best friend’, but these dogs are really, seriously, helping Georgia’s borders. These dogs and their handlers had practice and training in the U.S. and soon they will start working in Georgia, in the Batumi, Tbilisi and Kutaisi airports. The partnership between the U.S. Embassy and Georgian government has existed for four years already now, and one good outcome of the program is that there will be 16 dogs in Kutaisi, Batumi and Tbilisi that will be engaged in combating drug trafficking.
