Location: Downtown Tbilisi, Georgia
Event: In the wake of the violence of July 5th and 6th, Tbilisi is continuing to see a number of protests at Parliament and other government buildings around the city. Generally, these protests are beginning on Rustaveli at 6pm and continuing into the night, though there have been daytime protests as well. U.S. government personnel are advised of another protest tonight in front of Parliament on Rustaveli Ave. numbering in the thousands. The protesters have announced their intention to continue to protest until their demands are met, therefore U.S. government personnel are advised to anticipate that demonstrations will continue for the foreseeable future.
Although last night and tonight’s protest were peaceful, it is important to remember that large crowds are unpredictable and confrontations and violence between event attendees, counterdemonstrators, and police can occur without warning.
Exercise caution when traveling downtown and avoid large gatherings.
Actions to Take:
- Avoid the areas on the dates/times described above.

- Be aware of your surroundings.
