Location: In front of Parliament along Rustaveli Avenue in downtown Tbilisi and throughout Georgia
Event: Georgia will hold parliamentary elections today (Saturday, October 31), which may generate pedestrian and vehicle traffic at polling stations throughout the country. A large rally is scheduled in the afternoon in front of Parliament along Rustaveli Avenue in downtown Tbilisi; street closures should be anticipated.
U.S. Government personnel have been advised to avoid areas with a large police presence, which is an indicator of large gatherings with the potential for violence, and to exercise caution if in the vicinity of any demonstrations. Those who are in hotels, restaurants, or other businesses near protest activity should remain in the building until crowds dissipate.
