Donation of equipment to Dmanisi Youth Medical Education Center (March 7)

Today, the U.S. European Command Office of Defense Cooperation (ODC) donated household items and equipment to Dmanisi Youth Medical Education Center, which was completely renovated through the U.S.Department of Defense Humanitarian Assistance Program in 2017.  Once fully equipped, the center will provide medical services and education to children with non-communicable diseases like diabetes, asthma, and others, so that these children can learn to lead healthy lifestyles and overcome their illnesses.

This equipment was donated through the Defense Security Cooperation Agency’s (DSCA) Excess Property Program and is a part of the larger humanitarian assistance provided by the US Department of Defense to the people of Georgia every year.

The center belongs to Dmanisi municipality, but the medical-educational programs will be run by the NGO “A Call to Serve” (ACTS), one of the first American NGOs to operate in Georgia, providing humanitarian assistance to Georgian people.
