DTRA Contributes Equipment to National Food Agency to Support Animal Health Protection in Georgia (September 10)

Within the framework of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Program, refrigerators for storing veterinary medicine have been installed in the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti and Guria regional departments of the National Food Agency (NFA). With the purpose of protecting animal health, the National Food Agency conducts vaccination against different diseases across the country. Upgraded technical facilities will enable NFA to ensure full compliance with vaccine storage conditions and take measures effectively. Within the framework of cooperation between the National Food Agency and the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, projects are implemented to strengthen NFA’s technical capabilities as well as educational programs are conducted for veterinarians to enhance their knowledge in bio-safety principles, sampling techniques, transportation, and disease control.
