Compelling programs and activities on a wide range of themes and topics

Bringing America to Georgia

The American Spaces network is a partnership between the U.S. Embassy and local organizations, typically libraries. The Embassy supports 20 American Spaces in Georgia, including nine American Corners, nine American Shelves, an iSpace in the Embassy, and a Bookmobile.

Corners attract audiences eager to learn about the United States, including its culture and engagement in Georgia. Shelves offer literature, games, and programming in cooperation with the Corners. The Bookmobile is a traveling bus delivering resources directly to Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) settlements.

WHAT DO AMERICAN SPACES OFFER TO VISITORS?

  • Opportunities to engage with American diplomats
  • Speakers on topics ranging from women’s empowerment to entrepreneurship
  • Clubs about themes like English conversation and science
  • English language learning resources
  • Computer access to learn more about the United States
  • Networking opportunities for pursuing their own projects
