Next week, members of the U.S. military will begin arriving in Georgia, in preparation for Exercise Jackal Stone 2016. Jackal Stone is part of U.S. European Command’s Joint Training and Exercise Program which is designed to enhance joint combined interoperability with Allied and partner nations.
Jackal Stone 2016 is a bilateral exercise coordinated by U.S. Special Operations Command Europe to develop interoperability in counterterrorism operations among Georgian and U.S. special operations forces and interagency organizations. Jackal Stone has been coordinated over the course of the last year and will take place throughout the month of August. The exercise scenario is designed to portray realistic and relevant security challenges and is not connected to any real-world events. The U.S., as lead nation, and Georgia, as host nation, appreciate the support and consideration granted to us by the citizens of Georgia and thank them for their support of joint training over the next month.
