Film Editing Workshop with Professor Jason Rosenfield (June 30)
During the week of July 3 – 7, Georgian documentary filmmakers will participate in a film editing workshop at Frontline Club Georgia, 62 Lado Asatiani Street. Participants will study principles of basic story structure, the art of the cliff-hanger ending, and create their own “Sizzle Reel” to use when pitching for funding for their films.
The workshop will be taught Jason Rosenfield , an American film editor and professor at University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts. Mr. Rosenfield’s editing credits include work in both documentary and narrative films as well as television projects including Law and Order: Crime & Punishment. He is the recipient of numerous award nominations and an Emmy Award for his work on Memphis PD: War on the Streets.
The program is part of the American Film Showcase program which is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs through the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts. It is part of ongoing cooperation with the Georgian Ministry of Economy Film in Georgia initiative, encouraging economic development by introducing Georgian filmmakers to techniques to secure funding for their projects from non-governmental and private sources.
