In continuation of the U.S. commitment to supporting Georgia through expert partnerships that build a sustainable, diverse economy, the ships Ocean Gladiator and Babuza Wisdom delivered 13,000 metric tons of wheat and 4,000 metric tons of soybean meal to the Port of Poti on January 3 as part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Food for Progress program.  The soybean meal and wheat will be sold on the Georgian commercial market, with the proceeds to be invested into a USDA agricultural development program to improve Georgian farmers’ and processors’ productivity and efficiency and improve food safety and quality along Georgia’s dairy and beef value chains.
