Fostering Trade Cooperation: Trans-Caspian Trade Route Coordination Meeting
Ambassador Degnan participated in Commercial Law Development Program’s (CLDP) Trans-Caspian Trade Route Coordination meeting. The event brought together industry professionals and government stakeholders to promote cooperation on the Trans-Caspian Trade Route. With participants from various countries, including the United States, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Azerbaijan, and Georgia, the meeting focused on identifying challenges and developing recommendations for smoother trade routes. The key objectives included harmonizing customs and border crossing procedures to reduce delays, as well as promoting electronic information exchange for improved transit procedures.
This project was organized by the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) with funding from the State Department, in partnership with USAID. Promising developments are underway to establish a robust and interconnected Trans-Caspian trade corridor, fostering prosperity and enhanced regional connectivity.
