Georgia hosts CDC Eastern Europe and South Caucasus Intermediate Field Epidemiology Training Program
On Monday, February 13, the first training workshop for the second cohort of the CDC Eastern Europe and South Caucasus Intermediate Field Epidemiology Training Program (EESC FETP-I) launched in Georgia. 25 residents and 13 mentors were recruited from the human and animal health sectors from five participating countries: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine. Programs like EESC FETP-I take a learn-by-doing approach to strengthening epidemiological skill through applied practice and has immediate impact on the health security of participating countries.
