Georgia hosts NATO forces during exercise (July 6)

TBILISI, Georgia (July 6, 2015) – The Republic of Georgia will host NATO allies from the United States and Black Sea region in an exercise, July 8-22, to enhance military cooperation among participating nations as tensions within these regions remain high.

For this fifth iteration of Exercise Agile Spirit, service members from Georgia, Romania, Bulgaria, Latvia and Lithuania and the U.S. will participate under a NATO flag. The training will emphasize the use of anti-armor weapon system, infantry tactics, combined arms integration, and command and control. Marines from the Black Sea Rotational Force based in Romania as well as Marines with 10th Marine Regiment from Camp Lejeune, N.C., will represent the U.S. in the exercise.
