Georgian delegation learns about pre-trial services best practices in the U.S. (September 9 – 22)

In anticipation of the introduction of pretrial legislation in the Republic of Georgia, the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs section (INL) of the U.S.Embassy funded the study visit of seven representatives from the National Probation Agency (NPA) and the Ministry of Corrections and Probation to the United States to learn about pretrial services best practices. The Georgian delegation attended the National Association of Pretrial Service Agencies (NAPSA) Annual Conference and Training Institute in Salt Lake City, Utah, and observed the day-to-day operations of the Salt Lake and Milwaukee County Pretrial Services.  There, the visitors learnedabout and observed operations, management, and delivery of effective pretrial services best practices.  Pretrial services prepare cases for trial in court.
