Georgian Military Officials Visit US State of Georgia to Study U.S. Military’s Family Readiness Programs (May 25)

In mid-May, Georgian military officials traveled to the U.S. state of Georgia to meet and work with personnel from the US state of Georgia’s National Guard Family Readiness Group. The goal of the visit was to observe how U.S. military services—through Family Readiness Groups—work to assist redeploying soldiers and their families, so that the Georgian Ministry of Defense can establish and maintain its own similar programs.  The familiarization tour was sponsored by the US Embassy’s Office of Defense Cooperation within the framework of the National Guard State Partnership Program between the country of Georgia and the US State of Georgia that began in 1994.
