Four officials from Georgia’s Ministry of Agriculture traveled to Kansas City, Missouri from May 15-30 to participate in a Food Safety for Meat and Poultry Inspection workshop.   Sponsored by the USDA’s Cochran Fellowship Program, the training assists with Georgia’s development of a modern, reliable food safety system in an effort to encourage public safety and expand international trade.  Cochran Fellowships are offered annually in Georgia through the United States Department of Agriculture and Foreign Agriculture Service.  The Program’s objective is to help Georgia develop agricultural systems necessary to meet domestic food needs and to strengthen trade ties with the United States and other countries.
