Global Entrepreneurship Week 2017 promotes Job Creation throughout Georgia (November 9)

The U.S. Embassy and partner organizations will promote innovation and entrepreneurship November 12-18 within the framework of Global Entrepreneurship Week 2017.  This year’s theme, Women First, Prosperity for All, highlights the importance of women-led businesses and female-friendly working environments.  The U.S. Embassy will launch a year-long business mentorship program for women and men from all regions of Georgia to develop business skills.  American entrepreneur Betsy Fore, known for her work with Hasbro and Mattel, will also run a series of workshops and lectures in Tbilisi, Batumi, Khashuri, Marneuli and Akhmeta, focusing on product development, marketing, branding, intellectual property.

American innovator and entrepreneur Betsy Fore will share her success stories and hold workshops on marketing and branding. Betsy has a decade of experience as an inventor, working with Mattel, Hasbro, and UK’s Moshi Monsters where she created over 40 million dollars in revenue. Betsy has invented over 100 products and advises a number of hardware startups as well as UNICEF Wearables for Good initiative.

Global Entrepreneurship Week partners include the Georgian Agency for Innovation and Technology, the Innovation Support Fund, the Georgian Entrepreneurs Association, Bank of Georgia, the European Alumni Association, of Georgia, JSC Crystal Microfinance, and San Diego State University – Georgia.

Created in 2008, Global Entrepreneurship Week is an annual weeklong series of events and workshops designed to inspire entrepreneurship and innovation in more than 100 countries and 370 universities. Global Entrepreneurship Week was founded by American entrepreneur and humanitarian Ewing Kauffman. 28-30 November, entrepreneurs from Georgia and around the world will participate in the U.S. government-sponsored Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Hyderabad, India.
