On April 26, the International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) in Budapest awarded Giorgi Kurdadze the ILEA Day Award for Outstanding Operational Success, for applying what he learned at ILEA courses to effectively investigate corruption at the Anti-Corruption Agency of the State Security Service of Georgia (SSSG). Mr. Kurdadze was granted one of only three awards given globally by the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL) Bureau of the Department of State. He was accompanied by INL Director Sarah Rupert together with two other award nominees from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Special State Protection Service of Georgia. ILEA Budapest is funded and supported by INL and is committed to providing regional criminal justice training to improve legislation, law enforcement, and democratic institutions in participant countries. Since its founding in 1995, more than 24,000 participants from countries throughout Central/Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and North Africa have graduated from ILEA Budapest.
