The U.S. Embassy through the State Department’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL) donated 15 computers to promote the educational process of juvenile convicts at the Penitentiary Establishment #11. INL has worked closely with the Vocational and Educational Training Center for Inmates (VETCI), the Special Penitentiary Service, and the National Probation Agency for the past twelve years, providing support for vocational and educational opportunities for inmates. Deputy Minister of Justice Buba Lomuashvili, the representatives of Special Penitentiary Service, and INL Director Sarah Rupert observed the completion of English language course funded by INL and facilitated by the British Council. The juveniles will have an opportunity to take basic and advanced computer classes and prepare for the upcoming national exams.
