Joint Maritime Operations Center Interagency Council Meeting (November 18)

On November 18, Charge d’Affaires Elizabeth Rood met with members of the Joint Maritime Operations Center (JMOC) Interagency Council to discuss progress and encourage support for the future development of the JMOC.  The JMOC is an interagency coordination center for early detection, identification, and response to maritime threats against Georgia through the integrated collection, analysis, and dissemination of information.  It is a key contributor to Georgia’s maritime safety and security, and for improved Maritime Domain Awareness in the Black Sea.  The U.S.Export Control and Related Border Security (EXBS) program funded the construction of the facility, equipped the Center, and provided training to help stand-up the JMOC, and is committed to support the Center in increasing its operational capabilities.
