Major General Thomas Carden, The Adjutant General – Georgia National Guard, and Senior Department of Defense Officials from the U.S. Embassy visited the Racha-Lechkhumi-Kvemo Svaneti region. MG Carden spoke with local leaders about Resilience, Defense Support to Civil Authorities (DSCA), Crisis Management / Disaster Response, and support from the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA). GEMA is prepared to travel to Georgia with Georgia National Guard Soldiers to assist in creating and executing Tabletop Exercises (TTXs) with the regional government. MG Carden presented a list of Request for Information (RFI) questions to be answered by the regional government that will initiate the beginning of the partnership. This is part of a larger ongoing effort to build a stronger, more resilient Georgia.
