Marvel Comics’ author and illustrator David Mack visits Georgia (October 3)
The U.S. Embassy is proud to announce the visit of Marvel Comics’ author and illustrator David Mack, best known for Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Fight Club 2 and American Gods. David Mack is also the creator of his own best-selling series of graphic novels, Kabuki. From October 15-20, David will visit disabled, minority, and vulnerable youth in Tbilisi and Adjara. He will be a guest artist for art therapy sessions, hold consultations with NGOs who use comics for youth outreach, and hold lectures for graphic design students. Public events will include:
Live drawing demonstration and launch of Fatal Error 2, Sunday, October 15, 7:00pm, Dive Bar X at Fabrika
Lecture and art exhibition on Tuesday, October 17 at 7 PM – 9 PM at George Chubinashvili National Research Centre
This is David Mack’s second visit to Georgia. Last year, the U.S. Embassy invited David Mack for a series of art workshops with disadvantaged youth. While here, he also helped Georgian youth create a comic book called Fatal Error, which helped to raise awareness of social issues and promote STEM education. Fatal Error is an ongoing U.S. Embassy business development and social advocacy project that uses sequential art to reach rural youth and target populations.
