The Embassy has received updated information regarding upcoming commercial outbound flights from Tbilisi on Georgian Airways. Seats should now be available for purchase on the following:
31 March – Tbilisi to Amsterdam
4 April – Tbilisi to London (NEW)
If you are seeking to depart Georgia, contact Georgian Airways directly (head office located at Rustaveli Ave. #12, Tbilisi) or your travel agency as soon as possible to purchase a ticket for one of these flights. Georgian Airways website: www.georgian-airways.com
Connecting flights to the United States from Amsterdam and London are currently operating, however they may involve layovers and/or additional connections in Europe or the U.S. to reach a preferred destination city in the U.S.
Please read this information for U.S. Citizens Returning from Europe (scroll about halfway down the page) on the Department of State’s website regarding where U.S. citizens are allowed to transit en route to the United States.
Note that flights from Europe are only being permitted to fly into 13 specific airports in the United States, as detailed on the Department of Homeland Security’s website, so you will need to plan your travel route accordingly.
Please understand that the embassy is unable to guarantee seats nor assist with booking tickets on commercial flights for private U.S. citizens. We understand how difficult the current situation is for those trying to get home to the United States. The U.S. Embassy in Tbilisi is actively exploring all options to assist U.S. citizens in Georgia, and we will provide additional updates as soon as possible.
Please encourage your fellow U.S. citizens in Georgia to enroll in our Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive future emails and alerts from the embassy.
Do not hesitate to contact the embassy if you need assistance. We want to hear from you!
