CDA Ross Wilson’s Remarks to Media at MIA Launch (November 20)

Q-n about the event

Ambassador Ross Wilson: I am delighted to launch this Millennium Innovations Award competition today. The purpose is to encourage young Georgians to study science, math, technology, engineering and to be part of an innovation economy of tomorrow.

Q-n about the ruling party’s initiative to pardon debts while opposition views this action as a bribe of voters

Ambassador Ross Wilson: I don’t want to get into current partisan political issues. I think it is our view and hope that the election next week will advance freedom and democracy in this country, that it will be widely seen as free and fair and it meets international standards. Those are all issues I have taken up with the Georgian authorities, and I will continue to do so.
