National English Spelling Competition Georgia NESCGE (March 24)

The nonprofit organization National English Spelling Competition Georgia (NESCGE) is pleased to announce its 3 rd annual National Competition. The culminating competition will take place on March 28 th 29 th , 2015 at 10:30 AM at Free University of Tbilisi.

The address of the venue is Dighomi University Campus, #240 Davit Aghmashenebeli Alley in Tbilisi. NESCGE is an exciting and educational national competition, in which students from 8 th 12 th grade compete by spelling challenging English words.

This competition provides a unique opportunity for both Georgian youth and teachers to improve their English ability, proudly represent their schools and communities, and be part of a nationwide competition. After the first competition in 2013, NESCGE was established as a nonprofit organization.

The competition has been a great success due to the effective collaboration of both Georgian and American volunteers. The competition wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of our partners, which include Free University of Tbilisi and Agricultural University of Georgia, British Council Georgia, BP, World Vision, the Embassy of the United States Georgia, The Ministry of Education and Science, Georgian American School, WT Group and many others. NESCGE has demonstrated exciting growth and its reach has extended to all corners of Georgia including both large cities and rural villages.

Since establishment in 2012, the competition has impacted over 10,000 individuals. Over 2,500 students from 221 schools in 11 regions competed in this year’s annual competition. In total, 44 finalists from 11 regions of Georgia will be competing in this year’s National Competition.

We encourage all friends, family, and community members to come to the National Competition to support the finalists from your respective communities.
