




On Wednesday the Office of Defense Cooperation facilitated a virtual meeting between Racha-Lechkhumi-Kvemo Svaneti regional and local leadership, Georgia National Guard, Emergency Management Agency of Georgia and State of Georgia National Guard and Georgia Emergency Management Agency on Racha-Lechkhumi-Kvemo Svaneti Region’s emergency preparedness and response capabilities and requirements. This was an introductory meeting to prepare the ground for the first in-person meeting in September, when the members of State of Georgia National Guard and Georgia Emergency Management Agency will visit Racha and meet with the regional and local leadership to conduct the first table top exercise, work on emergnecy response plans for the four municipalities in Racha and share their experience on emergency response in the State of Georgia. The September engagement is the continuation of the major effort by the US Embassy in Georgia to increase the resilience of Racha-Lechkhumi-Kvemo Svaneti region.
