Our message to Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank and worldwide
“Civilians are not to blame and should not suffer for Hamas’s horrific terrorism,” says Uzra Zeya, under secretary of state for civilian security, democracy and human rights. President Biden announced that the U.S. government will provide $100 million in new humanitarian assistance for Palestinians. And the U.S. Department of State will continue working with partners in Egypt, Israel and the United Nations to ensure that humanitarian assistance is delivered and civilian lives are protected in Gaza. Below is a message from Under Secretary Zeya, who spoke October 20 about the urgent need for humanitarian assistance.
Our message to Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank, and all around the world is clear: we see you, we grieve with you, and we mourn every loss of innocent life. Civilians are not to blame and should not suffer for Hamas’s horrific terrorism. pic.twitter.com/oIcI2PpPRd
