Police Academy Hosts Training on Weapons of Mass Destruction Crime Scene Investigation

The U.S. Defense Threat Reduction Agency’s (DTRA) International Counter Proliferation Program (ICP) organized a training course on Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) Crime Scene Operations (CSO) at the Police Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.  The course enhanced Georgian government officials’ skills in investigating and collecting evidence related to WMD crime scenes. Experts from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and DTRA led the training. Officials from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Emergency Management Service, Border Police, Special Tasks Department, Patrol Police, Prosecutor General’s office and Forensic-Criminalistic department attended the training. At the end of the course, the participants were recognized by certificates of attendance handed by the DTRA training team, U.S. Embassy, and Police Academy senior representatives.
