Rostropovich-Vishenvskaya Foundation representatives visit Georgia (June 15)

Ambassador Kelly was delighted to have the opportunity to meet Elena Rostropovich and other members of the Rostropovich-Vishenvskaya Foundation (RVF) Board during their visit to Georgia.  RVF is celebrating its 25th Anniversary, and Elena Rostropovich briefed Ambassador Kelly on the latest activities of the charitable foundation founded by her parents, world-renowned musicians and defenders of human rights Maestro Mstislav Rostropovich and Madame Galina Vishnevskaya.  Ambassador Kelly was delighted to hear the foundation is expanding its screening program of newborns for detection and treatment of debilitating and potentially fatal congenital heart defects outside of Tbilisi to other parts of Georgia, thanks to the support from the Cartu Fund.  Read more about the RVF, its mission and programs at www.rostropovich.org
