Security Alert for U.S. Citizens (November 9, 2020)
Location: Major cities in Georgia, countrywide
Event: Beginning today (November 9), the Georgian government will impose movement restrictions in major cities between the hours of 10pm and 5am in an effort to curtail the COVID-19 pandemic. Please be aware that during the restricted time, the government will not permit public and private transportation, including walking, unless it is for an essential need (for example, medical services).
Actions to Take:
- Monitor local media for updates
- Keep a low profile
- Review your personal security plans
- Have travel documents up to date and easily accessible
