Strengthening Legal Expertise: Georgian Judges' Visit to the U.S.
The U.S. Embassy and International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) office was proud to support seven Georgian judges as they attended the 87th Annual National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges (NCJFCJ) Conference in Baltimore from July 16-19, 2023. The judges networked with U.S. judges and increased their knowledge of risk assessment tools, restorative justice mechanisms, protective orders, and integrated domestic violence courts and specialized Domestic Violence dockets. Following the Conference, the judges observed Domestic Violence hearings in Washington, D.C. and met and discussed ongoing court challenges with D.C. judges in this area. The study visit ended with a private tour of the U.S. Supreme Court that included a briefing about the role and importance of the Court.
