U.S. Ambassador Kelly Degnan visits Svetitskhoveli Cathedral
Georgia is rich with cultural heritage, and through the Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation, the U.S. Embassy has worked with our Georgian partners to preserve and restore some of this country’s most important religious and cultural sites. Whether on official or private visits, we always find time to explore these Georgian treasures. During the Ambassador’s official visit to Mtskheta-Mtianeti, we toured Svetitskhoveli, a masterpiece of the Early Middle Ages. These sites are not just Georgian heritage but of all humankind.
