U.S. Citizen Services

The Department of State, through its Consular Section at the U.S. Embassy in Tbilisi, provides a range of routine and emergency services for U.S. citizens who live in Georgia or who are just visiting.  

U.S. citizens traveling to Georgia are encouraged to sign up online for the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program. To sign up online for the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program please visit the following website: https://step.state.gov/step/

The American, or U.S. Citizen Services (ACS) Unit’s assistance includes but is not limited to, passport services, notarial services, and Consular Reports of Births Abroad (CRBA). The Consular Section also assists in emergencies, including deaths, arrests and crisis situations.

After hours emergencies include urgent situations regarding the safety and welfare of U.S. citizens. This includes: Crime Victims, Arrest, Death, Child Abduction, Life Threatening Illness or Medical Conditions, Lost/Stolen U.S. Passport, or other safety and welfare issues of a U.S. citizen.

Visa inquiries are not handled by the Consular section.
